About Rover
Rover - ready to retrieve - is an online virtual Assistant using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to answer natural language questions to help veterinary professionals in their everyday practice. It works by finding the BSAVA content most relevant to your query, and then generating a response complete with a list of the sources used. You can then ask further questions to get more information, as needed. Rover has been developed by the BSAVA in partnership with Veristage.
Rover should be seen as an enhanced retrieval service, rather than as a replacement for the original resources. Instead of a standard search which may produce a long list of results containing your search term, Rover will take you quickly to what is most relevant to you.
AI models are not infallible. Rover provides output based on the content of BSAVA’s publications (which like any other publication may contain inaccuracies and errors, or content that is no longer up to date). Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any output and should not rely solely on this tool for making critical decisions. All outputs should be cross-checked against the sources provided.
Rover is intended for use by veterinary professionals and veterinary students. Pet owners should consult a veterinary professional for advice.
